Privacy
PostHonk is a small operation. This page says plainly what it holds about you and how to make it stop.

What we collect
- Your email address. You give it to us to receive alerts. It is the only personal detail we ask for.
- Which accounts you subscribe to, so we know what to send you.
- A record of what we sent you, meaning which alerts went to your address and whether they were accepted. This is how we avoid sending the same alert twice.
- Your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers. These let us match a payment to a subscription and cancel it when you ask.
What we do not collect
- Card details. They go straight to Stripe and never touch our servers. We could not see them if we wanted to.
- Whether you opened an email. Our emails carry no tracking pixels, no read receipts and no click tracking. We cannot tell whether you read an alert.
- Anything from your X account. We never ask you to connect one. We read only public posts from the accounts we track, using X's own API.
- A password. There is no account to log into.
Analytics and advertising
We use Orb for page counts. It is cookieless and does not identify individual visitors: it tells us how many people looked at a page, not who they were.
We also use the Meta Pixel on this website, so that we can tell which adverts lead to subscriptions. It sets cookies and reports back to Meta when you visit a page, start a signup, or complete a purchase. The purchase report includes the amount paid, so that we can measure whether advertising pays for itself. It does not include your email address.
This is website advertising measurement only. It is not used in emails, and it plays no part in the alerts themselves.
To opt out, block third-party cookies in your browser, or adjust your Meta ad preferences. Nothing about PostHonk stops working if you do: alerts are sent by email and do not depend on any of this.
Who else handles your data
Only the services needed to run this. Each sees the minimum it needs:
- Stripe for payments. Your email and card details.
- Resend for sending email. Your email address.
- Supabase for the database. Everything listed above.
- Vercel and Fly.io for running the site and the service that watches X.
- Orb for anonymous page counts.
We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or hand it to anyone else. There is no mailing list beyond the alerts you asked for.
How long we keep it
While you are subscribed, and for up to 12 months afterwards so that billing and delivery records line up if a payment is ever queried. Ask us to delete it sooner and we will, subject to anything Stripe must keep for financial record-keeping.
Stopping, and being deleted
Every email we send has a one-click link at the bottom that stops the alerts and cancels the payment together. You can also ask for that link by email if you no longer have one to hand.
For deletion rather than cancellation, email hello@posthonk.com from the address you subscribed with and we will remove your record.
Your rights
If you are in the UK or EU you can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase it. Email the address above. We will not make you prove anything beyond writing from the address in question.
Not affiliated
PostHonk is not connected to X, nor to any of the people whose public posts it reports on. We report what those accounts post publicly, nothing more.
